Sunday - Day Two

Sunday was a busy day, getting oriented to the place. I’ve had supper with a guy from China on Saturday evening and spent some time with a guy (Alfred) from Hong Kong. He said that Hong Kong has 7 MILLION people and his department is only about 27,000 sworn officers. I felt like a little fish in a big pond. I had breakfast with a Major from Miami-Dade Police Department. He is the Commander of the town of Miami Lakes, which is about the size of Lenoir. The neat thing is that he owns some property in Jefferson, NC and we talked about getting together when he comes that way some.

I caught myself today several times looking at my watch, and wondering what Tonya and kids were doing. The experiences here are going to be great I can already tell, however I can already see that it is going to be tough to be away from my FAMILY. I’m getting a new understanding for how those guys in the military do it. I feel confident that I’m going home, I can’t imagine leaving and somewhere in your mind being the fact that you may never see them again. God Bless our troops, for the sacrifice that they make so we can live in America.
Tonya, Jamie and Jacob,,,,, I Love you very much I’ll see you guys soon!!!!

Hey Brent!!!!

your room looks about like my old college dorm! Fun stuff huh?!?!?! I'm glad you seem to be doing well. We missed you at church sunday. Jamie sat on my lap all morning! We had prayer time in groups and she wanted to pray for her daddy. Just thought you might like to know that! Can't wait to see you!

Hey Phelps! Glad to hear that you are doing well. I have to tell you that I love your pretty pink blanket. You will have to get your room mate to hook your buddy up with some Notre Dame stuff. Talk to you soon.
